Nobody wanted to be a victim of typhoon Sendong which flooded and ravaged Cagayan de Oro City late last year 2011. But every Filipino dreams of going to Boracay and having a brand new house and lot. Who knew that a family from Cagayan de Oro would experience all of these, thanks to a surprise from TV5 and Camella.
The Labial family of Cagayan de Oro was lucky enough to be a beneficiary of a trip to Boracay and a brand new house and lot from Camella in an episode of TV5's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Philippines. The show is hosted by Paolo Bediones along with the makeover team composed of Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Divine Lee, Tristan Jovellana and Marilen Faustino-Montenegro.
Instead of just getting a makeover of their house located in a flood-risk barangay in Cagayan de Oro, the family was given a brand new house and lot at Lessandra subdivision in the uptown portion of the city.

The said show on TV5 is a local franchise of the American reality series Extreme Makeover Home Edition which is produced by Endemol, the same company that brought Big Brother, which is locally franchised by another television network, ABS-CBN.
Paolo Bediones himself was previously the host of another reality show franchise, Survivor Philippines, which airs on another TV network, GMA7, and is now hosted by Richard Gutierrez. Another reality show, a local franchise of The Amazing Race, is set to be aired on TV5 and will be hosted by their new talent, Derek Ramsey, which has just crossed over from ABS-CBN's fence. It seems that the country's TV network wars have elevated from soap operas to reality shows!
